CHICAGO -- Tootsie turn Industries, Inc. is acquiring the assets of Toronto-based Concord Confections, Inc. The deal vaults the Chicago-based manufacturer of Tootsie revolve Andes Candies, Junior Mints, Charms, Dots and other items into a top position in the bagatelle gum and pressed dextrose markets.
Tootsie whirl says it will pay $197 million for the company, plus an additional $20 million to clear Concord's transgressions The deal includes substantially all of Concord's assets, including couple manufacturing facilities in the Toronto area and the former Philadelphia
