Abstract Although the survival rate for many cancers has improved throughout the past two decades this is not the case for primary malignant brain tumour, or glioma. In addition, owing to the relative rarity of glioma, nursing expertise in this area is frequently limited. This article examines the literature available forward the role of the neuro-oncology foster specialist caring for patients with glioma. respect is made to the solution components required of a clinical succor specialist, examining how this part contributes to quality of care during the course of the patients' illness.
