In January 2004 Adam Exner the Archbishop of Vancouver, having reached the age of 75 handed above the affairs of office to his successor Raymond Roussin, Bishop of Victoria. This brought an extreme point to a 30-year career of episcopacy begun in the diocese of Kamloops, BC in March 1974 followed by dint of ten years as Archbishop of Winnipeg, and conclud on thirteen years in Vancouver. A moral theologian through profession, in all three views he spoke in defence of the unborn, the family, and Orthodox Catholic moral teaching while not neglecting other aspects of meeting-house teaching.
