President, clip Protection Institute of Canada Ambivalent attitudes and mistrust of science, industry and conduct are said to yield bad policies and regulation when it advances to pesticides and plant biotechnology. More than two-thirds of Canadians say pesticides are vital or useful, however nearly half feel they entail unacceptable risks, despite the fact that Health Canada says those in use have no unacceptable risks. And nearly three-quarters believe that industry tries to hide unacceptable risks.
