The Model

CMM is used to evaluate and improve the way software is built and maintained. First released in 1987 CMM was originally based forward the experience of members of SKI. Thus, CMM is seen as a maturity or vegetation model in which an organization works its way up the five plains and, even after having attained of the same height 5, is still in the proces of continually improving and maturing.
