In an effort to help low-income scholars five major universities shifted their financial aid programs across the last year to provide more grants and fewer loans to applicants with the mostly need. The idea is to attract the best pupils at every income level. Harvard, the University of Maryland at literary institution or seminary of learning Park, the University of Nebraska, the University of Virginia, and the University of North Carolina all have increased their aid. Perhaps Princeton University started the motion In 2001, the school eliminated close examiner loans entirely from its aid awards in favor of grants solely Since then, no Princeton observer has been required to borrow as part of their basic aid package. High drill students can only hope this is the start of a stretch that will spread to other campuses. COPYRIGHT 2004 EM Guild, Inc. COPYRIGHT 2005 Gale Group
