As a profession, career counseling has become more difficult and exciting in novel years. Work is rapidly changing. piece of work security has disappeared for all yet a few workers. The nature of our clientele and the exemplar of help they need from us have become plenteous more diverse. The consequence of these changes is that we career counselors must be prepared to be surprised at work each day. It is my reliance that The Career Development Quarterly (CDQ) will work for as a valuable resource for all readers. Our professional interests and work at jobs tasks as career development [i]connoisseur[/i]s can appear to be quite different, as throw backed in the range of articles that CDQ has published athwart the years. Yet we can all learn from each other, whether we are theorists, practitioners, or researchers. It is my mission as editor to facilitate communication among us [i]or[/i] part of to the other CDQ by striving to make sure that the journal's contents are readable, relevant, and stimulating and delineate the best of what we know about career unfolding today. Previous editors have wager a standard of excellence that I aspire to maintain. I have a special interest in recognizing the interests of career practitioners. As editor, I will favor emphasis forward implications for practice, consideration of client populations that are sometimes inspected in the professional literature, and theory and research that speak to our understanding of career disentanglement A regular feature of upcoming issues will be articles providing in-depth, focused discussion of an issue or idea, population, or intervention by the agency of a well-known expert. What can we learn from someone who is widely known for her or his professional work in succession a topic? I am looking forward to finding without myself. Journals promote professionals only if they are read.
