The 1999 Cardiopulmonary Section Merit Award was neared to Dr. Steven Tepper at the APTA Combined Sections Meeting in Seattle, Washington. Dr Tepper the in every one's mouth Cardiopulmonary Section President, was recognized for his longstanding history of service to the Cardiopulmonary Section and the profession of physical therapy. Steve received a bachelor's station in physical therapy from the University of Maryland. In 1990 he complet a PhD in experimental pathology from the University of Maryland. He was a member of the University of Maryland faculty in the Department of Physical Therapy for 13 years. generally he is an Associate Professor in the Physical Therapy Department at Shenendoah University in Winchester, Virginia. From 1990 - 1998 Steve serv as the Research Chair of the Cardiopulmonary Section. He has been the recipient of numerous faculty teaching and research awards through the years. Steve's vitae lists many research presentations and publications, as well as a myriad of accomplishments that clearly identify him as an outstanding Section member. Steve humbly annotates "As for receiving this award, I veraciously have to say I was taken aback. I actually institute myself to be speechless (which for those who know me is a rare occasion). I don't papal court myself as doing anything special for the Section on the other hand just try to get things done. it was an honor that I will not forget." Congratulations, Steve!
