Linda Diane Crane, PT PhD CC 48 died forward March 24, 1999, after a long battle with metastatic breast cancer. Dr Crane was born in Rochester, NY graduated from R L Thomas High drill in Webster, NY, and attended Ithaca society in Ithaca, NY, where she graduated with a B in physical therapy in 1973

Dr Crane received her Master of Medical Science (MMSc) station from Emory University in 1977 and her PhD from the University of Miami in 1999 She serv forward the faculty of the physical therapy programs at the University of Connecticut (1979-80) University of Alabama at Birmingham (1980-84) University of fresh England (1984-1988), and the University of Miami (1988-1999) She was a part-time staff physical therapist at the University of Miami-Jackson Memorial Hospital from 1989-95 and was a member of the Central Presbyterian ecclesiastical authority in Miami, Florida.

Dr Crane, a dedicated member of the profession of physical therapy since 1970 helped to create a significant part of our history by dint of being honored as one of the first three board certified specialists (in Cardiopulmonary Physical Therapy) by the agency of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) in 1985 She serv as a Delegate to the House of Delegates (from the C-P Section, CT AL, FL and ME where she was also Chief Delegate, 1986-88) In 1992 she was awarded the Lucy Blair Service Award, for distinguished service to the profession.

In the early years of the Combined Sections Meetings, Dr Crane chaired the Program Committee of the Cardiopulmonary Section, and was responsible for the high quality and diverse programming for which the Section became known. When Dr Crane serv as Chairman of the Cardiopulmonary Section (1982-86) she spearheaded the petition for specialization in cardiopulmonary physical therapy, and played a fundamental note role in the development and validation of clinical competencies for advanced flat practice. She also was Chair of the Cardiopulmonary Specialty Council of the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. The Cardiopulmonary Section lately honored Dr. Crane by instituting an annual Lectureship in her name, and naming the Annual Merit Award for her, an award she received in 1990

Her dedicated work with advanced of the same height competencies placed her in a unique position to work in succession entry level competencies.
