In December of 1997 the officers of the Cardiopulmonary Section, American Physical Therapy Association, agreed to hire a Chicago based advertising firm that specializes in soliciting advertisers for publications. I am happy to report that this prov to be a fortunate venture. As you can diocese in the figure below, we derive pleasure fromed dramatic growth in advertising income in the journal athwart the past year. Although advertising and subscription income is important to help the Section sprout the cost of printing the Journal, it is imperative that we not replace journal appease with ads. Rest assured, I will be watching this closely In fact, I believe that additional income generated between the sides of ads should help our journal improve The number of manuscripts submitted to the journal continues to increase. If writing was the same of your resolutions for 1999 I would encourage you to submit a research paper, literature review, or case investigation More specific instructions for authors will be published in the nearest issue of the Journal. Please contact me if you are interested in serving as a manuscript or main division reviewer. I had the opportunity to befitting with some of the Associate Editors at the Combined Sections Meeting in Seattle. We focused onward ideas for special issues and ideas for one of the new additions to the journal (eg the Research Corner). As always, contact me if you have any questions or suggestions.
