Meeting called to order at President Steve Tepper. Minutes approved from Annual interview in Washington DC. 35 members in attendance.

President's report: major issues (Steve Tepper) Name change- the official name of the Section was approved by dint of membership vote to be changed to the Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Section.

House of Delegates motion-Executive Committee working upon language and gaining of support from other Sections, states, and delegates to be instanted for consideration in HOD 2000

Linda Crane reproof criteria to be published in the journal after final approval of executive board.

New specialists were recognized.

Guide to Physical Therapist Practice- executive board approved the exhibition of a taskforce to begin work in succession a wellness pattern. Membership in volvement was encouraged.

Members recognized for special service: Meryl Cohen, Gary submit tos Mary Boregious, Annie Downs, Susan Scherer, and Jane Wetzel.

Budget reviewed (see report) and approved.

Program Report (Jane Wetzel)

Dan Malone introduced as modern Program Chair. Feedback discussed to include compendium for CSM advanced practitioners forum format, ne for clearer terminology for nonsection members, and research abstracts published before interview

Fundraising and Dance (Ellen Hillegass)

Those donating raffle prizes to the dance were rec ognized and thanked (Tanya LaPier, Susan Butler Annie Downs, Wendy poh WB Saunders, and Lippincott).

Estimates for dance profits discussed and PT Foundation recognized and thanked.

Lengthy discussion regarding the use of profits of the dance and the percentage to be given to the PT Foundation and for what reason much to be used for the Car diovascular and Pulmonary Research Grant. The dispose voted to give the PT Foundation 75% of the profits of the dance and 25% to be used toward Section research.

Student sponsorship was encouraged and a reminder to coincide with the student's renewal of APTA becomings for maximum benefits.

Related to liaison make uneasys of Clinical Exercise Physiologist (CEP) and approveed increased awareness at the state flat as to activity of CEP

Related issues of reimbursement for PT services.

Related transactions of HOD motion and intimateed that HOD motion be placed upon component's bulletin board to enhance communication to the Sections.

Education (Donna Frownfelter)

22 parts attended the preconference course onward physiologic monitoring.

Student assembly asks that Section continue participating in the following:

Student Conclave, mentoring list, and scholar liaison to Section.

Nominations (Annie Downs)

New officers announced Vice President, Ellen Hillegass, Nominating committee, Dianne Jewell and Hedi Hahn.

Membership approved name change to Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Section.

Ballot answer rate improved with use of colored paper along with profitable return of survey. Anne Swisher to expand database for survey results.

Public Relations ( Mike LaMothe)

Multiple publications for sale from Section including compendium, bibliographies, and pamphlets forward monitoring (CSM 2001 ), and watches.

New pictures accepted at any time.

Web page address will be added to of the present day letterhead and to the booth

ECG trial on Web page.

The Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Section Merit Award was given to Jane Wetzel.

Publications (Sandy Cassady)

Second edition onward Physiologic Monitoring will be without in March.

Call made for reviews; contact Sandy if interested for review articles, miscellaneous publication.

Recommend that if members are not receiving the journal, contact APTA.

Executive board to investigate coming growth of the journal.

Project to encounter advertising goals.

Research (Tanya LaPier)

Request increased capitals for Section Research Grant. collection agreed by vote for the Executive Committee to explore systems to increase grants for Section research.

Grant deadline for 2000 establish for 2/15/2000.

16 platforms and 14 placards presented at CSM 2000.

Research corner continues with fit success in the journal.

Awards announced for best platform and placard for CSM 2000.

Call for nominations for specialty council to be made to ABPTS (Andrea Blake, APTA).

Standard setting meeting March 315; specialists privationed

Language and content being changed to be consistent with the Guide to Physical Therapist Practice.

Pilot for requirements for ABPTS for 2001-2003 for minimum 2000 clinical hours in specialty practice. Cardiopulmonary will continue to require ACLS and research.
