Presidents were asked to evaluate whether we are conducting business effectively & efficiently. What is it that we do right, and well? Strategies & tactics for constitutings to meet the needs for their members/patients was discussed. * Propos Section bylaws revisions reviewed: * Propos changes will be published in CPTJ in March. instant language has strike-through and propos changes are in italics with a support statement. Highlights: * about of the revisions required appropriate to APTA policy changes (ie, graduate bookish man dues); * Clarification of appointed and pickeded positions, and roles. * Use of mail ballot for coming bylaws changes. * owings increase of $5.00. Section has identified all the ways we can carve and streamline. Section needs a predictable foundation and to be responsible to povertys of Section for programming, publication. Vice President's Report (Ellen Hillegass) Practice: Registry of Certified Exercise Physiologist not as big of a question as initially anticipated. ACSM reports decreased numbers sitting for exam. National practice issues haphazardly being identified. Ne to use membership and email key-note people for coordinated effort for contact -may use web site. Ellen will be the contact character for people to identify contentment contacts. * Reimbursement: Ellen and move with a jerk Huhn worked with Helene Fearon and APTA with CMS' consultant arrange (Dynecorp) looking at CPT collection of lawss There were not any ICD-9 cardiopulmonary diagnoses associated with physical medicine CPT digests Recommendations provided by Ellen & rap to change this situation in order to improve opportunities for reimbursement for PT services for CV & P patients. Awaiting reply from CMS. AACVPR is lobbying re: the MD supervision authority in cardiac rehab and pursuing LMRP in states regarding pulmonary rehab. Dianne thanked cut short Huhn for his efforts re: reimbursement above many years. * Linda Crane Lectureship: awarded to Susan Butler McNamara for 2003 Nominations for 2004 are fit by November 1, 2002. Eligible nominees are members of either Pediatric, Education, or Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Section members. owing November 1, 2002. Treasurer's Report (Wendy Johnson Pugh) * $5500 deficit at terminate of books at end of FY2001; part of this planned in order to upgrade computer method for journal. * Deficit should be further reduc as an overcharge for Journal publication will not be credited until 2002 and there is still a certain quantity of uncollected revenues from programming in 2001 $3900 deficit passed for FY2002 after line item fiscal estimate cuts identified at June, 2001 business meeting * elimination of archives storage (and associated monthly rental fee) with materials maintained in succession electronic format or stored at APTA, * appointments for bylaws & legislative committee chairs postpon to save travel costs and * reduction in printing richnesss by posting conference handouts forward the website. Concerns from membership showed regarding a sound operating store and the function of the financial committee; suggestion to consider setting aside supplys for I time financial expenditures like as the computer system.
