Purpose/Hypothesis: The minimum attract favor toed intensity for obtaining physiologic benefits from exercise training in the CC)PD population is 60% of maximum oxygen consumption (VO^sub 2^max). The symptom-limited graded exercise touchstone (GXT), the six minute walk standard (6MWT) and the shuttle walk example (SWT) can be used to assess exercise tolerance in commonalty with COPD. The GXT is the gold standard because it is the best predictor of VO^sub 2^max. The SWT has been shown to be a better predictor of VO^sub 2^max than the 6MWT (Guyatt GH et al., 1984 Singh SJ et al., 1994) The design of this research was to investigate the exercise exhibitions that are most commonly used to assess exercise tolerance in individuals attending pulmonary rehabilitation in strange England.
