This presentation suggests a theory of Adaptive efficacy in an attempt to provide measurement opportunities for further research. Measurement would allow quantification of the impact of multiple varietys of stress on human function. Stres is broadly conceptualized to take the part of any perturbing force to physiological processe For patients receiving physical therapy, Stressors include not simply the pathologies, impairments, functional limitations and disabilities, yet also the environmental exposures as part of their lives, and physical therapy interventions. The Adaptive strength theory propounds that the number of possible states within the human plan needs to be greater than the number of possible disturbances in order to minimize the deviation of that theory from its state of stability. Adaptive vigor is the number of states available to the human a whole across spatial and temporal scales. Adaptive force is manifest as the demeanor of variation within fundamental elements of the physiological control rule Supporting research will be not past nor futureed from diverse scientific areas which have utilized heart rate variability, approximate entropy correlation dimensions, and more freshly the author's own work in the area of cardiac vagal regulation utilizing Poincare plat analyses, where healthy subjects reporting exhaustion had the lowest plains of short term variation in vagal cardiac check An abundance of evidence demonstrates associations between reduc plan level variations with adaptive activity based outcomes such as exhaustion, overtraining syndrome congestive heart failure and myocarclial infarction. Mechanisms of testing the theory (including those underway) in the one and the other animal and human models will be discussed. Implications for clinical practice include: 1 existing possibilities for heart rate variability consequences in heart disease patients; 2 the use of an aggregate order variability measure to provide a clinical assessment of available adaptive spiritedness either for short term (within a treatment) or protracted term (through the course of treatment) adaptation.
