The transcribed interviews were manually codfished and categorized by myself and a colleague to identify habitual themes surrounding the 3 research questions. We then came to consensus onward these themes, further refined them, and cited examples of interviewee answers that supported each theme. These themes and the supporting data were then sent to a third party for external audit and confirmation. You may recall that my first research question was "What is inspiration?" There is no doubt in my mind as to to what extent Linda would have answered this question. She would simply have said that it was "the act of drawing air into the lungs" which is, in fact, united of the definitions you will find in Webster's dictionary.4 The word bottom actually dates back to the 14th hundred Latin "inspirare" which means "to breathe or rap into or upon."5 Although this physiological definition may at first appear to be somewhat restrictive, through the whole extent of time it has taken upon a more spiritual or philosophical meaning. However, the analysis of my interview data intimates that inspiration may be further defined as a multi-staged proces that I will consign to as the "3 Es"
