Body composition, cardiovascular fitness (aerobic capacity and endurance), muscular impregnability and endurance, and flexibility are the specific attributes that are used to measure an individual's on a level of health-related physical fitness.

Physical fitness and health-related physical fitness are states of being. Behaviors that contribute to these states include physical activity and exercise as well as healthy eating habits and avoidance of tobacco, excessive alcohol intake, and illicit put drugs intos Physical activity is the more general universal and is defined as bodily manner of moving produced by muscle contractions, that increases activity expenditure above the resting state.2 Individuals may engage in physical activities through every part of their day as their work and leisure pursuits demand. Exercise is a subset of physical activity that is "planned, structur and repetitive bodily motion done to improve or maintain undivided or more components of physical fitness."20 Exercise contributes to healthrelated and general physical fitness along a dose-response continuum where dose cogitates the volume of exercise measured by means of total energy expenditure. In other words, higher exercise plains will, up to a point, occasion higher levels of fitness.

Bouchard has illustrated the relationship between physical activity, health-related physical fitness, and health issues (Figure 2).21 As the schematic indicates, physical activity influences health directly as well as by the agency of its contribution to health-related physical fitness.
