This issue of the Journal includes a critical review of the literature forward the response of skeletal muscle to exercise in patients with COPD by way of Sunita Mathur titled 'Skeletal Muscle Adaptations to Exercise in COPD' Christy Wilson's Research Corner onward 'Understanding Statistical Power' provides an overview forward what statistical power is and for what reason it can be used to critically evaluate published research. The abstracts for the Combined Sections Meeting in Nashville are also included in this issue. I am thrilled to diocese so many abstracts this year! The number of abstracts continues to increase and is reflective of the push of all of us to provide evidence regarding the interventions that we use in practice. The abstracts cloak a wide range of topics, and I think that you will agree with me that there is something that should interest everyone Please make it a point to attend a certain quantity of of the platform presentations and take a apply the mind at some of the placards This was the first year that abstracts were submitted and reviewed online. I want to thank Tanya LaPier for her hard work in coordinating this proces for our Section and for getting the information in a timely manner for publication. This of recent origin format changed the process of obtaining the abstracts for publication, on the contrary with her hard work, we were able to accomplish this task. Also, take a not many minutes to read the alphabetic character from the President, by Dianne Jewell. Dianne states forth several challenges to all of us regarding thinking about what we want to accomplish as a Section. In order to formulate goals and strategies as a Section, it is vitally important for the Executive Committee to hear from you. Think about her questions and get to to the Business Meeting prepared to provide feedback to Dianne and the Executive Committee.
