Acquires Bravo Card Customers

In a propel expected to strengthen its position as a top 10 credit
card
issuer, San Francisco-based Providian Financial Corp. [PVN] lately
signed an agreement to purchase 600000 prime credit card relationships
from Riverwoods, Ill.-based Morgan Stanley Dean Witter's [MWD] Bravo
card program.

The exchange involves approximately $350 million in credit card
assets. Providian Financial also moves lending and deposit products
