BENTONVILLE, AR -- Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. is testing a candy store-within-a-store universal in three of its Supercenter

The approximately 500-to 900-sq-ft stores, called Kid Connection, make opened in December. They are located in front-end storefronts near the registers, areas typically subleased to other businesses.

A CandyBUSINESS source describes it as a "retail-entertainment speck with candy and candy-related novelty toys." Another source says the universal replicates "a high-end candy section that focuses in succession premium-priced, non-commodity candy."
